Zorbas Island is located just next to the beach but if you walk on a normal speed you are in 5 minutes on the main road. In Kokkini Hani everything you need as a tourist is on the main road. For example there are 2 big supermarkets for you if you forgot something at home. Then you have a couple of souvenir stores so you do not have to buy expensive ones at the other location. If you want to get out of Kokkini Hani but do not want to go with an excursion and you do not have a car, then the
best option is the bus.
There are 2 bus stops in Kokkini Hani No. 4&5. If you want to go to Heraklion it is best if you take number 4. Hersonissos is 4. In the bus it is different than in your country first if the driver does not spot anyone at the station it will not stop. If it does stop you do not have to go past the driver or scan a card. Just sit down and a guy will sell the tickets. If you want to get out you have to press a red button, sometimes it says stop on it. Only then it will stop unless there are people at the stop. If the bus is full it does not stop either unless you press the button.
There are several ATMS in town and if you feel sick or ill you can go to the pharmacy which you have the choice of 2 different shops. Also there is a laundry service, but it quite a while to walk to. If you forgot to go before vacation you can go to the barber. And then we have a very important building, at least in Greece: The Postal Office. You can buy stationary if you want to write letters or you have something to do for school/work. You can send/pick up mail or packages. But it is quite different than at your country, because you do not have your own mailbox. At the office you have a cabinet with a lot of pigeonholes where the mail is put into. All the mail is sorted on name, so you have to look through someone’s mail to find yours. You can also buy some souvenirs in the office and you can pay your bills.
These were the most important facilities you need to know as a tourist, of course there are a lot of cafes and restaurants but you stay at Zorbas so no need to eat somewhere else. All the facilities that are outside Zorbas inside Kokkini Hani are
